For respiratory problems
For problems such as asthma, allergies, sinusitis, or bronchitis, you can rub Eucalyptus on the chest and under the nose to open bronchial passageways and loosen congestion. Eucalyptus rejuvenates red blood cell functioning, creating more oxygen for the lungs. You can also spray it on your pillow at night to help keep airways open.
To purify the air in a room
This is very important for someone with chronic or serious respiratory disorders. Spray Eucalyptus on a napkin and clip to any fan or register or simply add to your humidifier.…Eucalyptus will inhibit the spread of infection.
To kill dust mites
Approximately 6–8 drops of Eucalyptus oil added to your hot rinse cycle will kill the dust mites which can aggravate respiratory problems. Or mix 1 oz. of Eucalyptus oil with 7 oz. distilled water in a spray bottle, shake well and spray your mattress, sheets and pillows once a week. This will also greatly reduce the number of dust mites.
For fever reduction
Apply on chest and forehead, avoiding the eyes. For young children, apply very little, as Eucalyptus may cause chills.(Not recomended for children under 2 years of age)
For cuts, scrapes, burns, and abrasions
Apply Eucalyptus oil (not the balm) to disinfect, promote healing and reduce scarring.
For use as an insect repellent
Eucalyptus repels flies and mosquitoes, as well as fleas and ticks for your pets. Apply the oil to exposed areas of your skin before heading outdoors. For your pet, spray between the shoulder blades and on their bed.
For bathing
Soak in the bath with Eucalyptus. Use 2 tablespoons in a tub of hot water to open sinus and bronchial passageways. Soaking for at least 10 minutes will allow Eucalyptus to enter through the pores, relaxing muscles and relieving aches and pains. It will also soothe your mental state and balance your emotions!
