Researchers and physicians have reported tea tree oil to be four to five times stronger than the usual household disinfectants (e.g., hydrogen peroxide) and yet stings far less when applied to minor abrasions.
According to physicians, tea tree oil passed the Kelsey Sykes test, the most rigorous antiseptic test available. It proved effective, both in vitro and in vivo, against fungi such as Candida albicans and ringworm, and bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, and Streptococcus. In the publication Natural Health, Natural Medicine, Dr. Andrew Weil stated that "tea tree oil is the best treatment I know for fungal infections of the skin."
Tea tree oil has been effective in fighting such skin disorders as eczema, psoriasis, toenail/fingernail fungus, athlete's foot, ringworm, dry/cracked skin, acne, dandruff and much more. For best results, apply oil in the morning and evening.
Tea Tree Balm
I am very partial to my tea tree balm. I always recommend the tea tree balm unless someone has a scalp problem, for which the tea tree oil is more appropriate. This balm is remarkable and never ceases to amaze me when it comes to the skin disorders my customers confront me with. My tea tree balm is uniquely and richly blended to create ultimate results. It is a must for dry/cracked heels, elbows and hands and is unsurpassed when it comes to results. Tea tree is such a powerful essential oil and, again, the cosmetic grade beeswax I use, seals it in the area and seems to “zap” a problem out in a heartbeat. My tea tree balm (as with all of my balms) includes a touch of menthol, so avoid eye contact. You will feel it around the eyes, but it will dissipate within a couple of minutes. The tea tree balm is used for the same skin problems mentioned above for my tee tree oil and should be applied twice a day, in the morning and the evening. |
